October 18 through October 31, 2007:
Theatre of Death
Come see the show that for the last several years has been hailed by critics as one of the “Top Theatre Events” (Cityguide.com) “Sensational” (D magazine) “a truly unparalleled entertainment” (Broadwayworld.com) “An elegant evening of horror” (Dallas Morning News), “The Amusement Park haunted house ride of your dreams…or maybe your nightmares?” (Alexandra Bonifield, Independent Arts Writer).  This will be the fourth installment in which we present “Teatro Breve” a curious form of Spanish Drama that dates back to the middle ages.  All the plays are presented in English, and they all have one thing in common: someone dies!  This year’s show includes selections of some of the most sensational plays we’ve done over the last several years, some of which are:  the agonizingly morbid “Lament of Ignacio Sanchez Mejía” by Federico García Lorca, “Floor 13” which is the most popular of the black comedy “13” plays by Alejandro de la Costa, the brutal “Father and Mother” by Agustín Barrios in which child’s play leads to unspeakable horrors, and the  play that caused the greatest sensation by terrifying audiences and critics alike when it first premiered, Mark-Brian Sonna’s “Killing Thomas.”
This show is not intended for minors due to the intense subject matter and violence.
